The 6th Annual Highland Park Independent Film Festival
$20 || October 3 – 5 || Highland Theater
The Highland Park Independent Film Festival (HPIFF) was founded by a group of filmmakers whose mission is to promote the art of film in their community. HPIFF is the first film festival of its kind in Highland Park. We are dedicated to bringing filmmakers who are producing the most unique and captivating independent cinema to share their work with Highland Park.
Danny Trejo will be honored as the recipient of the 2019 HPIFF Humanitarian award on October 3rd. After the ceremony, there will be a special feature of Machete followed by a O&A with Trejo himself.

Highland Park’s 1st Annual Oktoberfest
$10 || October 13 || The Hi Hat
Hosted at the Hi Hat on York Blvd will be Highland Park’s first Oktoberfest celebration! Seasonal tunes will be performed by West Coast Prost, with German drinking food provided by Belle’s Bagels. The bar will be stocked with a wide array of seasonal German bier for all to enjoy. Special games and prizes will be given out throughout the event.

Barcade 15th Anniversary!
Free || October 16 || Barcade Highland Park
Join the Barcade family on October 16th as they celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Barcade! The original Barcade opened way back in October of 2004 in a former metal shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. 15 years later they’ve expanded to 8 locations! To celebrate the occasion, they will be running a special tap list of rare beers plus cocktail specials, food specials, and merch specials.

L.A. Indie Bazaar
$5 || October 18 || The Autry
Enjoy an evening al fresco at the Odd Market, an “indie” bazaar with food trucks, live music and the coolest SoCal vendors for crafts, vintage items, home goods and oddities. Select museum galleries will be open.

Mr. CreepyPasta’s Story Time
$15 || October 21 || Lodge Room HLP
Creepypastas are the urban legends of the internet; so what happens when we bring two of YouTubes biggest Creepypasta narrators together on stage in a one night event? Join us to find out as they tell stories never told on their channel and never to be told again! The pair will be joined by Myuu who will provide the soundtrack to this terrifying night.
Be warned, these stories feature mature themes such as horror, murderer, death and the occult. Audience Discretion is Advised.

Vegan Goth Dinner Party
$35 – $60 || October 21 || Checker Hall
A decadent five-course vegan dining experience featuring Ceremony Chamber Orchestra performing live musical desecrations by Joy Division, Bauhaus, The Cure and Siouxsie & The Banshees.
The menu items and drinks will have goth themed names. Some include Pickled Skull Shavings & Goblin Brew, Black Forest Fairie Mousse and She’s Lost Control
