Kitchen Mouse’s TOPO Gets a Colorful Mural Makeover

LA artist Carly Beck's large scale mural draws inspiration from "80's Italian disco."

Last year, Figueroa brunch favorite Kitchen Mouse took over the space next door to their popular eatery and transformed it into TOPO, a grab and go deli and bakery that shares their passion for all things gluten free, dairy free and vegan. TOPO, which means mouse in Italian, sells everything from gluten free cupcakes to yummy vegan sandwiches made fresh daily to soups, salads, and baked entrees that make for an easy weeknight dinner. They also stock a variety of gifts, cards, and party supplies for any occasion.

The storefront recently received a makeover thanks to LA artist Carly Beck, who designed and painted a vibrant and large-scale mural on the building’s exterior, ensuring that the outside of the market is just as eclectic and colorful as the inside. The exterior of the building already had a Space Invader theme, which Beck incorporated into her eye-catching mural, as well as drawing inspiration from “80’s Italian disco.” Go check out Beck’s whimsical work for yourself, and grab a pastry or walnut tempeh banh mi while you’re at it!

TOPO is located at 5906 N Figueroa St. Open from 8AM-8PM daily.
